Things to do in Wabasha, MN

You have decided you need a break from work, the kids, the parents, the neighbors or maybe just need a break.  There are so many things to do in Wabasha, MN, just 90 minutes southeast of Minneapolis and St. Paul area.  Why not head down to the south shore and stay and play with us.  Make your stay even more relaxing and enjoyable and stay at Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast and Adventure and now Brewery. 

Yes, there is now a brewpub on the premises of Turning Waters Bed & Breakfast.  With kayaking just blocks away, the Mississippi River awaits you for your adventures. The National Eagle Center is located just 4 blocks away and along the path to the NEC, you can stop and shop at the Jewels on the River, Proud Antiques, or continue around town to The Common Closet, Marla’s, Barton’s Brickhouse Boutique... and if coming in May, our boutique stores are open daily.  Just six miles south in Kellogg, MN, you will find the most amazing toy store emporium.  Lark Toys is one of the top 25 BEST toy stores in the world.  They also make amazing fudge to go along with riding the indoor hand-carved carousel, playing mini golf, feeding the llama’s and more.  

Do you like to fish?  Stop in at River Valley Outfitters and pick up your fishing license and bait and head to the many walkable fishing spots.  How about biking?  Bring along your bike or contact our local bicycle shop owner Dave at River Rider Cycle to see about renting a bike.  Did you know we have many State Parks within a 20 minute or so drive including Whitewater State Park, Frontenac State Park and Carly State Park.  Hiking, adventures, classes and more offered simply go to the DNR website.

Not into the physical fun we offer, then head out on the Great River Road Wine Trail on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin side to great wine visits.  Prefer craftbeer well you are in luck as we have Hoppy Girl Brewing dba Turning Waters Back Alley Brewing Co in Wabasha, MN, and three miles away Reads Landing Brewing and 25 minutes away Island City Brewing in Winona, MN. 


Starting in June through August, enjoy Music Under the Bridge thanks to the River Junctions Art Council.  Every Friday night ,weather depending, starting at 7pm, RJAC offers a variety of musical acts to put pep into your step.  Bring along your chair and a jacket just in case the night is a cool one.
