The breakfasts equaled or surpassed any 5-star restaurant. Brenda was exceedingly caring and helpful with those of us who were dealing with age and health issues and made our stay feel like home. I highly recommend Turning Waters to anyone looking for a place to relax and enjoy. The brewery is a happening place!!

Brenda doesn't hold back when it comes to making you feel warm, welcomed and right at home. Her hospitality will make you feel like you're visiting a good friend you haven't seen in a while. The home is adorn with respect to its rich history, along with local one-of-a-kind flare. The rooms are impressive - clean, comfortable and cozy all over. And breakfast... yum, yum, yum. Made some B&B BFFs thanks in large part to the friendly atmosphere this beautiful gem invites. Will definitely return with friends or just the spouse - or maybe just myself if ever wanting a lovely individual getaway. HIGHLY recommend.

Our stay at turning waters bed and breakfast was great. We stayed in the Coniferous Master Suite and felt right at home. The farm-to-table breakfasts were delicious. The Hoppy Girl brewery that is right outside was a fantastic place to grab a nightcap beverage and our first drink was always on the house which was nice. I would highly recommend staying here and we hope to be back!

My girlfriend (Darci) and I received a gift certificate to Turning Waters and had a great night there. Loved the feel in the entire house. The Coniferous Master Suite was so cozy and warm. It was so peaceful and quiet. Had a great breakfast the next morning! Loved the brewery as well. If you love a dark beer, the Salted Caramel Russian Imp Stout was delicious. Brenda is a great host!

My husband booked a night at Turning Waters for my birthday in July. The space was clean, roomy, relaxing, and unique. We felt welcomed and valued as guests. We were treated to a drink on the patio before we left to go out for the evening. We drove up the road to Reeds Landing for a kayak tour on the Mississippi River, which is something I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area. In the morning, the breakfast was delicious and so incredibly beautiful! Staying here was a wonderful experience.

It's hard to capture why this place is so great, but I think it ultimately comes down to the fact that the proprietor, Brenda, absolutely loves what she's doing. That love shows in the amazing homemade gourmet breakfasts, which were so far behind what I was expecting; the cozy feel of the well-appointed rooms; the warmth of the company; and the generosity of a free beverage each night at the brewery. It's so much more than that though... The town of Wabasha may be small compared to the Twin Cities, but there was so much to do there and in the surrounding cities that we had more than enough to do on our 4-day escape. Brenda had great recommendations for the best local food, live music, and other activities to check out. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Turning Waters Bed and Breakfast after winning a 2-night stay at a Soldiers 6 fundraiser. We had a wonderful time.Upon arrival, Brenda greeted us like old friends and showed us to our room (the Prairie Room). She suggested we put our bags away and come down for "a beverage." Happy Hour ensued! We met the two other couples that were staying that first night and had multiple glasses of brew. We finally had to excuse ourselves around 8 pm to go get some dinner! We returned and were able to take a wonderful bath in the clawfoot bathtub down the hall (literally the reason I wanted this room!). In the morning, we rose to fresh coffee and a GLORIOUS breakfast. I don't have enough good words to describe it! Brenda even accommodated my gluten intolerance! (First breakfast was a fresh fruit yogurt parfait, fresh berry bread pudding, rosemary lemon scone, fresh berries, and chicken sausage links). The display was beautiful and tasted heavenly! I was full for hours after! My husband and I explored some nearby sites including Lark Toys in Kellogg, the Watkins Museum in Winona, and local shops in Winona. When we returned with our loot, Brenda and two separate couples were on the patio and we all enjoyed a beverage (or three!) We got along so well that all three of us couples (who hadn't met but a few hours earlier) went to supper together. The second morning, we arose to coffee and another delectable breakfast. Egg bake, berry yogurt parfait, fresh fruit, two different types of seasoned bacon, a biscuit, and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin were served.I'll be honest and say that I definitely wished I'd had a few more days to stay! Brenda is such a hospitable host and makes you feel like you've been friends for ages. I know that we were very fortunate that we got along well with all four of the couples we met during our stay.Brenda provided shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, towels, bedding, a robe, an upright fan for your room, Hulu and Netflix, and a small refrigerator in each room for guests. My husband and I were a bit warm in our room at night but Brenda provided us with a second fan to keep us cool! Brenda has MANY DVDs that you can check out from her. I'd definitely recommend staying!

Turning Waters - Best of the BestThere are two primary aspects to any B&B: the B and the B. At Turning Waters, the accommodations are excellent. The rooms are super clean and neatly appointed. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious and nutritious. Typically there is a main dish with several accessories such as muffins, yogurt, fruits and juices. There is fresh coffee early, and breakfast is at nine. There are other features at Turning Waters. The owners operate a brewery and they make a nice range of tasty beers. They offer a free tasting in late afternoon and if interested, you may purchase more. All guests are welcome at the tasting and the conversation is wide-ranging and very interesting. They also have a variety of books and DVDs and have a nice wrap-around porch for sitting and gazing. The best part is the proprietress. When you stay at Turning Waters, she makes you feel like you're truly welcome and not just a client. We have stayed at Turning Water B&B during two visits to Wabasha. If I could give Turning Waters ten stars, I would.

Brenda laid out a beautiful and tasty breakfast both mornings we were here with enough food to fill up to last us most of the day! We spent two weeknights at Turning Waters. Breakfast was excellent, as was the beer in Brenda's brewery. The bed was comfortable, street noise was quiet, water in the shower was hot, and the downstairs was cozy to hang out. Brenda was responsive and was happy to accommodate any needs. Over all a hospitable stay and I recommend a stay while also visiting other spots up and down the River Road.

This was our first experience at any Bed and Breakfast, and it was AMAZING! The house is beautiful and well-maintained. Our room was perfect... jacuzzi, king-sized bed, cozy, warm (we were there in January), and quiet. And the breakfasts... oh, the breakfasts!!! Brenda is some kind of wizard in kitchen!! Every breakfast was beyond incredible! So much delicious food with a clear dedication to buying local and organic as much as possible. We love and appreciate that so much!! The pub - right in the backyard - was a fun place to hang out in the evenings, sampling Ford's creative brews (or other beverages), chatting with the other patrons and just having fun! Everyone was so friendly! And even with all this awesomeness, perhaps what is most notable from our stay at Turning Waters, is how we were treated like family. It was as if we'd know Brenda and Ford our whole lives! They are wonderful people doing business the right way. We are confident you'll enjoy your stay, so you should probably book now. :)

Turning Waters it's a solid five star B&B. The house is fantastic with a wrap around porch that's perfect for watching thunderstorms. Our room (Great Lakes) was spacious and inviting. Basically it's everything I like about old homes turned into B&Bs.But there are 2 things that make Turning Waters stand out. First of all, their garage had been converted to a brew pub and it's awesome. Not only are HoppyGirl's own beers good but they also offer beers from other local breweries. The atmosphere is super casual and friendly. But the real magic behind Turning Waters comes from the owner, Brenda. She is a powerhouse of positive energy and makes everyone feel special. When we ride the 3-speed Tour again I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Brenda is an awesome Innkeeper! She made me feel right at home. Turning Waters Bed, Breakfast and Adventure is a comfortable home-away-from home. I felt completely relaxed here. The B&B is beautifully decorated and features lots of happy paintings by a local artist. Went for a gorgeous hike at Whitewater State park to the Chimney Rock. Wowee what a beautiful view!! There are lots of gorgeous places to hike near Wabasha MN. Also went for a beautiful walk along the river after dinner. The Mississippi River is about a block away from the B&B and there's a nice walkway there. Even better...there is a brew pub on premises called Hoppy Girl Brewing with many handcrafted beers. I enjoyed a delicious triple berry beer. Love their logo with the Hoppy Girl! Turning Waters B&B is the only B&B in Minnesota with a brew pub! How cool is that? My bed was super comfy. I felt like a princess (had to use a step to get up into the bed). Breakfast was amazing! I didn't need to eat again until dinner at about 5:00. I wasn't hungry during the afternoon. Note: You could easily stay at this B&B for a FULL WEEK and still not enjoy everything Wabasha MN has to offer. Thank you Brenda for a wonderful getaway! Can't wait to stay again!!

My freshly minted husband and I visited Turning Waters over Wabasha, MN's annual Grumpy Old Men festival weekend in late February, 2018. We booked it as a Minimoon weekend get-away, and with it being our first ever visit to a B&B, we were cautiously excited. What we were met with once we arrived completely blew us away. Brenda and Ford provided us with such a welcoming experience that we both agree it may never be surpassed! Brenda's easy-going nature made us feel immediately welcome, and Ford's quirky charm had us laughing straight away. We were given a tour of the house, during which were allowed to peek into the rooms that were waiting for their guests to arrive. Every room has its own character and cozy charm. Our River Room Master Suite was such an oasis, both to wake up in as well as come 'home' to. The rainfall shower over the jacuzzi soaker tub felt straight out of a spa and there were plenty of throw blankets to cuddle up with in over-sized swivel chair. Each morning we were greeted with freshly brewed coffee and a new, 5-course breakfast you almost wished would never end. The food was delectable, locally sourced and presented in such a way that Brenda's passion for cooking and caring for others easily shined through. The weekend passed all too quickly. We would not trade our experience for anything and hope to make it back for many anniversary trips!

Made the trip to Wabasha from the Twin Cities just to stay at this B&B for a romantic weekend getaway and it was absolutely wonderful! Brenda and Ford were fantastic hosts and we felt right at home. The coniferous room was beautifully decorated and we enjoyed multiple baths in front of the fireplace. When the weather turned rainy on us, the perfect solution was one of Brenda’s pub Pizza’s and delicious home-brewed beers in front of a movie! Great food, great service, very clean and cozy! I am a bit late in this review but not short in memory as to how wonderful our stay at Turning Water's was!We had booked several rooms for my sons wedding - then Covid hit. The graciousness of our host, Brenda, in helping us sort out our initial room reservations was, well, gracious. She was a wonderful host throughout, even aiding in my other son's 'pants too big and in the wedding party' debacle (he had flown in from fighting fires out west). There were countless considerations and niceties at an exciting but anxious time for us, and surely, a difficult business time for Turning Waters.Brenda, thank you for your welcome, warmth, incredible breakfast, beautiful rooms, your advice and the lovely tavern to congregate in.Your B&B is lovely - and you even more so.
